THE Young University Rankings 2022: the first place is French!
It's historic! For the first time, a French university dominates the ranking "Young University Rankings" fromTimes Higher Education. With a score of 76.6, thePSL University (Paris Sciences Literature)takes first place, ahead of the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, defending champion. The Young University Rankings only rates universities under 50, using the same criteria as the Times Higher Education's flagship ranking, the World University Rankings.
PSL (Paris Sciences Lettres), first world university in THE Young University Rankings 2022
Formed in 2010, PSL is the grouping of 11 French schools. With 20,547 students, 25% of whom are international students, PSL University (Paris Sciences Lettres) has risen to first position in the THE Young University Rankings 2022. The ranking evaluates more than 500 establishments under 50 years old each year, on the based on 13 indicators relating to teaching, research, citations, international openness and industry income. A historic performance, since it is only the second time that THE Young University Rankings has been dominated by a non-Asian university (the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne held first place from 2015 to 2017).

If the first place of PSL is remarkable, the other French universities do not have to be ashamed of their performance. We find in particularthe Polytechnic Institute of Parisin 6th place,Sorbonne Universityin 12th place,the University of ParisandParis-Saclay Universityin 18th place. The representatives of French higher education in this ranking show particularly high scores with regard to international openness, with an average of 69 out of 100.
